Biography

Sarvin Hazin is an Iranian-Austrian violinist, kamancheh player, composer and educator based in Vienna, Austria. She holds a Graduate Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Hazin is a member of the Omen Quartet specializing in contemporary classical music inspired by folk traditions from various cultures, and a member of the Ethno jazz ensemble, Kurdophone, where she works as both a performer and composer. As an expert in Iranian Microtonal Music, Sarvin performs with Trio Terrea focusing on performance of contemporary microtonal compositions for violin, cello, and claviton. In addition to her work as a soloist and guest musician in various ensembles and orchestras, including the Vienna Symphoniker and the Tonkünstler Orchestra, she is also involved in music theater and music education projects for children and youth. She is also the Music Director of the String Orchestra at Superar, an organization dedicated to providing free music education to children, combining artistic excellence with a strong social mission.Throughout her creative pursuits, Sarvin aims to blend her extensive experience in classical music with her deep knowledge of traditional and folk music from Iran to create a unique and personal style.
